ULTEM (PEI) for High-Temperature Automotive Prints

Engineering PEI / ULTEM grades for heat-critical brackets and under-hood adjacent parts — quoted on request.

ULTEM (PEI) is an engineering thermoplastic for higher temperature and chemical resistance than commodity FDM plastics. It is not our default for large exterior aero (cost and process), but it fits specialised brackets and heat-soak environments.

Tell us temperature targets and load at quote — we confirm if ULTEM, PA-CF or another grade is the right fit.

Best for

Heat-adjacent brackets, fixtures, low-volume engineering parts with PEI requirements.

Avoid when

Large cosmetic aero panels — ASA/PA-CF FDM is usually more economical.

Lead time

Quoted case-by-case; not always same-day instant-quote SKUs.

Do you instant-quote ULTEM online?
Not always. Upload the file and note ULTEM / PEI in the order comments so we confirm capability and price.
Is ULTEM for exterior bodykits?
Rarely. Exterior aero usually uses ASA or PA-CF unless a specific heat/chemical brief requires PEI.
What information should I send?
Operating temperature, load, chemical exposure, and whether the part is structural or cosmetic.
